Our commitment
Upcoming Birthday Tracker helps you remember the dates that matter — birthdays, anniversaries, and yahrzeits — on both the Hebrew and civil calendars. The information you keep here is personal, and we treat it that way. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, and we never share the people and dates you track with advertisers or data brokers. There are no ads.
What we collect
- Your account — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- What you add — the people you track and their details: names and nicknames, birth and event dates (Hebrew and civil), event type, and anything optional you choose to add such as gender, email, or phone — plus your lists, relationships, "same person" links, and wishlist items.
- Sharing — records of the lists you share and the people or groups you share them with, including invitations and join requests.
- To deliver notifications — your reminder preferences and, if you enable browser notifications, a push subscription for your device. Your calendar-feed link contains a private token.
- Support — messages you send us through the feedback form.
- Basic technical logs — limited request and error logs we keep to operate the service and protect it from abuse.
How we use it
Only to run the service for you: to show and send your reminders, generate your calendar feed and greeting cards, enable list sharing, respond to your feedback, and keep the service secure and working. That's it.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We don't share the birthdays or people you track with advertisers, data brokers, or social networks.
- We don't use your data to build advertising profiles, and we don't show ads.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers we need to operate, and only so they can perform their function for us:
- Email delivery (e.g. Mailgun) — to send reminder, invitation, password-reset, and notification emails.
- Hosting (Oracle Cloud) — where the application and database run.
- Network security & delivery (Cloudflare, including Turnstile bot protection) — to serve the site securely and block abuse.
We also share a list with the people or group you choose to share it with — that's the point of sharing. And we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.
Your calendar feed
If you subscribe to the calendar feed, the link contains a private token. Anyone who has that link can see that calendar, so treat it like a password and only add it to apps you trust.
Keeping & deleting your data
You can edit or delete the people and lists you've added at any time, and leave lists shared with you. To delete your account and the data associated with it, reach us through the feedback form and we'll take care of it.
Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes (bcrypt), traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and sensitive tokens are stored hashed where practical. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Upcoming Birthday Tracker is intended for adults, who may of course track children's birthdays. We don't knowingly allow children to create their own accounts. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us.
Cookies & local storage
We keep you signed in using your browser's local storage. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll revise the date at the top, and significant changes will be made clear in the app.
